Why the fuck would anyone want the Liberals back in after the complete mess they left our country in? Foreign Debt sky high, 10 straight interest rate rises, highest tax levels in Australian history, workers rights stripped to the core, complete ignorance of global warming, failure to engage meaningful diplomatic relations with our regional neighbours, under-employment at record levels and constant lies about one international issue after another. Who are these ignorant fucks who continue to stick their right-wing heads firmly up their arses? Posted by: Anonymous (28 Sep 08) |
Regarding the comments of 10 March... Under Labor "australia is going to go into so much debt it's not going to be funny" When the Howard government came to power Australia's foreign debt stood at around $190 billion, when the Australian public ousted Howard last year, that level of debt exceeded $600 billion. Government debt had been reduced, but the lack of infra-structure and the layer-upon-layer of palming-off government responsibility to the private sector, saw private foreign debt more than triple to compensate. As a result, we face a debt crisis that Labor, and Rudd, will now have to clean up. "Unlike the liberals under John Howard they kept interest rates low unemployment was low and the country is prosperous" When Howard inherited the economy the Cash Rate was at the exact same level as when he left office. He inherited a very healthy interest rate position, though over his last 6 years in office he presided over 10 interest rate rises - largely the result of irresponsible squandering of revenue through vote-buying tax-cuts amd handouts to private enterprises (in complete contradiction to Coalition ideology that private enterprises are more efficient). As for unemployment, the figures have been distorted. Under Keating, the benchmark for being unemployed was all people working less than 15 hours who wanted full-time work. Under Howard and Costello this benchmark was dropped to 1 hour per week. A convenient way to represent unemployment as dropping, when really hundreds of thousands remain extensively under-employed. "Unlike his predecessor Paul Keating and before him Bob Hawke we were over 9 million dollars in debt" Another case of having no idea of the economic facts. Note foreign debt figures above trebling. What you may be alluding to is the so-called $11 Billion black-hole in the budget. Howard and Costello successfully duped the public, including the ill-informed person who made the errant comments, that a budget deficit is a debt, and that this is bad. Not so. Deficits are part of valid economic mangagement in times of economic downturn. Painting them as 'bad' is liking tie one arm of government behind ones back. Nonetheless, the Coalition never let the truth get in the way of electoral success. "So Mr Rudd get your finger out of your butt because i will not be voting for you at the next election." Do you seriously think anyone believes you have ever, or would ever, vote Labor ? Given the level of ignorance shown by your comments, I am sure you will be a Coalition voter for life. This poll is poorly written. The question is "When do you THINK the Federal ALP will lose office". However, the final option says "HOPEFULLY five terms (2022) or beyond". There's a difference between how long you WANT them to hold office for, and how long you THINK they will hold office for. Personally, I reckon that if the ALP continues as it has shown over the past three months, I'd like them to keep governing for a long time. But I don't think it's likely to happen.
