Free men do not have to ask their governments permission to bear arms. Gun control is really just about control, not guns. Posted by: davidH (14 Oct 10) |
I am a recreational hunter, as was my father and his father which makes me a third generation hunter. To be a hunter is not just about the kill, there is far more to the sport of hunting. There is a saying where I come from which I often hear. It goes along the lines "That kids who hunt, don't steal and deal". I hunt for many reasons, time with friends, time in the bush and as a deer hunter I chase highly prized venison and if a trophy animal presents then some nice antlers to go along with game meat which is divine. I think that you should differentiate between someone who hunts and the criminals out there who involved in organised crime. It is these gang land murders and shootings which are giving all gun owners in this country a bad name. The thing is that these criminals would not be using a hunting rifle, they are using pistols and semi automatic rifles which are banned in our country. If you take my guns away, what have and will you achieve??? NOTHING&. Todays and Tomorrows criminals are out there, they still have their guns and are still shooting each other. I am an honest, hard working husband and father of 3 children. We go away for weekends fishing and hunting as a family. There are plenty of us out there who do the same week in week out, spending our hard earned $$$ on fuel, food and recreational equipment. Some food for thought in a world that's gone mad....!!!! How else can you defend yourself. The Australian legal system and police can't protect it's citizens so its up to the individual. Failing being able to bear arms, adopting the zero tolerance as in New York to get rid of the out of control crime in Australia would be an option. Posted by: Anonymous (11 Nov 08) |
