I think the people that have been here the longest should have their culture reflected in today's Australian society more than people that have just landed here. I do not like multiculturalism. I don't like going through streets of Sydney and wondering what country I am in - some parts look like a mini Asia, some parts look like a mini Middle East etc. I feel sorry for the Aborigines that had to deal with the white people coming here. And the current governments are wrecking the country even more. It is sad seeing where this country is heading - we don't have too much trouble yet (not that you see published anyhow) but maybe Cronulla was just a small reflection of what is going to happen in the future. Sadly, Australia is becoming a mixing pot with too many ingredients. Posted by: Anonymous (24 Sep 08) |
I think people who come over here have a right to be here its just like the native inhabitants of Australia saying to us that we don't have a right to be here. Everyone should be welcome in Australia who come with the right intentions. We are a freedom and cultural loving people we are one of the few countries in the world who are not war torn by rival groups of people. Australia is a great place to live and i am proud to be Australian. Posted by: David Gill (10 Apr 08) |
